Digestive Problems

Drinking tab water is one of the most common diarrhea causes part 1

While on a trip to Peru I was terribly affected by a very serious case of diarrhea, so serious in fact that I had to be driven to the hospital because I was completely dehydrated and I could have died. I had to spend two days at a local public hospital before I was cured from the disease which I had caught because I was negligent and I did not listen to the recommendations and warnings of our tour guide. He told us that the most common diarrhea causes in Peru were eating rotten foods and drinking tab water, which was highly contaminated with bacteria. He insisted that we avoid engaging in activities that would involve such possible diarrhea causes by eating only the food from our hotel and by drinking only bottled water.

One day when we were hiking to a nearby archaeological site I got very thirsty because the weather was hot and I was sweating a lot. Unfortunately I had forgotten to buy a bottle of water before starting the hike, so I had nothing to drink. I was so thirsty that as soon as I saw a water tab I opened it and started drinking huge gulps of water which honestly tasted like heaven at that moment. I completely forgot that drinking tab water was among the most common diarrhea causes in Peru. Back home I always drink tab water so it was even more difficult for me to remember that I could not do the same thing in Peru.
